2017 June Dividends

I am a little late posting 2017 June Dividends because I was on vacation over the 4th of July week. I spent a week in Cape Cod golfing, swimming and generally relaxing. It was a great week and I hardly looked at the stock market or thought for one second about my portfolio. It is on auto-pilot and I am pleased to say doing very nicely. Take this month’d dividends as an example. I cracked the $1000 barrier for the first time!  Part of the reason is because I got the first semi-annual special dividend from MAIN in the amount of $60.79. Without that, I would have fallen just short of the magic number. I think even without the boost from MAIN I will crack it permanently by December of this year.

It is extremely gratifying to see the portfolio doing so well with respect to dividends. I am more motivated than ever to build this dividend machine.  The July cycle is my worst month over the course of the year and I expecting a little over $400 for the coming month. I am continually either adding new stocks or adding to my existing positions. Currently, I am building up two newer positions: GLW & PFG.  I will keep dollar-cost-averaging until I reach a point where I feel the portfolio is where I want it.

So let’s get to the 2017 June Dividends report and you can see the great progress!

The totals for the month were as follows:

Results:                 Total:  $1015.64  for June              + $373.79 Month/YOY              58.24 %   Month/YOY increase

Conclusion 2017 June Dividends

$1000  !   Finally, after waiting for a few years to get here, it has arrived.  Even better is the fact that the totals are accelerating due to the magic of compounding.  Read one of my older posts here for an illustrative look at how this effect makes a huge difference.  It is hard to believe that I reached this goal but there is a lot more to go before I am ready to hang up the working shoes. I do expect to reach the next milestone even quicker ( all three dividend cycles over $1000).  This month’s totals makes me even more motivated to continue forward. I feel confident I can weather a correction or some of the bumps in life’s road.  Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing your comments on the 2017 June Dividends !!!  Until next month…..
